Our Horses

Kath's Toyboy

My story so far

My nickname is Kathy which is a bit odd as the last time I looked I was a boy however this name was given to me by my work rider Alex who is definitely a girl (silly humans)

I joined my new yard at the start of 2023 and love my new surroundings especially the swimming pool, which is great, and the facilities here are top class.

There are some really nice horses at the yard however my best friend is Dexter the dog and he often pops round for a grooming session.

Kevin my trainer tells me that I am the perfect syndicate horse as I am sound/tough/ and able to run on a regular basis.

If you look at my record I am very consistent and have been in the first 3 in 19 of my 39 runs. ( not bad eh!)

My 1st run for Robin Hood was at my local track Southwell on Friday April 14th where I treated my new owners to an exhilarating display to beat Bobby Leg Joe by a head with the others nowhere to be seen.

Kevin and the RH Team were incredibly excited and apparently they watched the replay in the winners room 7 times before they finally let their gracious hosts lock up and go home.

Only 4 days later I was back at the course this time over 6 furlongs and this time I was narrowly beaten by a previously rated 80 horse Papa Cocktail by a short head.

I didn’t see Papa coming and tried to battle back however the line came too soon and I think that I would have won in the next few strides.

Papa then bolted up again on his last 2 runs earning a mark of 77  which somewhat franks the form and underlines that I am a very progressive horse and have improved since joining Robin Hood and Kevin.

On my penultimate run of season on grass I finished a good 3rd at Thirsk and in my final run before my summer holidays I had an impossible draw at Pontefract.

I enjoyed a great Summer break in my friend Julia’s paddocks however I returned to the yard in September in great shape ready for my planned all weather campaign.

Siam Fox

RHR have had our eye on this horse for some time and our patience was finally rewarded when Kevin was able to purchase Siam Fox on our behalf at the recent Newmarket horses in training sales. Kevin and the team are very confident that Foxy has a very exciting future.

We feel that Foxy is now on a very workable mark, and he will be aimed at some of the great 7f/1m handicaps during the 2024 season with his first target being a potential tilt at the Lincoln at Doncaster in March.

The team have been looking for a nice “Saturday horse” for some time and with the new prize money arrangements felt now was the appropriate time to give RHR owners the opportunity to attend some of the great tracks and newly formed premier meetings as an owner.
