Oscar has certainly been living up to his namesake the famous boxer Oscar De La Hoya by dropping his rider Alex on the gallops last week and in the process giving her a black eye.
When not bullying the stable staff Oscar has been performing really well on the gallops and as soon as the temperature lifts Kevin will be introducing some serious faster work.
We are all looking forward to being part of Oscar’s journey and would like to invite any interested racing enthusiasts to join us.
This week’s stable visit included a question and answer session with our trainer Kevin that was highly informative and interesting.
Whilst we were all fussing and feeding polo mints to Poster out in the fields one of our senior owners Frank sneaked off with Kevin to the top of the gallops to watch Mr. Gloverman do his final stalls test before his run 2 days later at Wolverhampton
On only his 2nd start the 2 year old ran a cracker finishing 2nd at 25/1 with Frank claiming the glory.
Many of the RH crew met up with Kevin, Amanda, Lauren and the team a few days later at Southwell to cheer on Papa Don’t Preach and it was nice to meet Kevin’s mother in law Jackie for the 1st time especially when she tipped up a 40/1 ew runner up.
